On the evening of March 28th, 2023, Holy Trinity Church was filled with anticipation as music lovers gathered to witness the much-anticipated concert, Requiem for a Changing World: Fauré and Chilcott in Concert. The concert, conducted by our Director of Music, Miss Calderwood, was a splendid evening filled with incredible music that left the audience spellbound.

The performances ranged from Alegri’s Miserere to the breathtaking Fauré Requiem, accompanied by a remarkable orchestra. The students were the stars of the evening, radiating their passion and focus throughout the night.

The solo performances were particularly memorable, and Mr Rodriguez’s piano playing was exquisite. Miss Calderwood’s musical direction was unparalleled, as she expertly conducted the orchestra and choir to create a harmonious and enchanting sound.

The highlight of the concert was undoubtedly the performance of Fauré’s Requiem. The haunting melodies, combined with the powerful vocals of the choir and the stunning orchestration, left the audience in a state of amazement. The students’ rendition of the piece was simply awe-inspiring and showcased their immense talent and dedication.

All in all, Requiem for a Changing World, Fauré and Chilcott in Concert was a splendid evening of music that highlighted the immense talent of the students and the commitment of the music department. It was a night that left the audience in wonder and will undoubtedly be remembered for years to come.

A big thank you to Schola Cantorum from Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School who joined our choirs on the night and of course to Sr Gabriel for telling us about her connection to More House.
