Student Voice has now launched… Student Voice is made up of a number of groups, including Student Council, Sport Council and Faith in Action.

Here we hear from our Head Girl, Katrina and Deputy Head Girl, Emma:

Every Thursday, we lead Student Council meetings where the council reps from each form discuss their peers’ opinion on all aspects of school life. In our meetings students have been able to discuss and debate contrasting opinions which we have been able to present to the senior staff to help put these changes into place.

We now have introduced a screen outside the dining room displaying all action that has been taken regarding issues and ideas the student council have presented to us. This has included: introducing a card machine for payments at the tuck shop during break, providing Year 11s with more quiet space for revision, extending break time to 30 minutes and many more.

What the council reps say:
“It helps the students be heard”
“It makes us feel as though we are making a difference”
“Hearing what the children want to make the School better”
“A great opportunity to hear other opinions”
“I find that the school council has been the best way of reflecting the voice of the pupils at More House”.
“With the school council in full action we are starting to see some really positive and cool changes to the school”.
