Our Faith in Action team have had the privilege of working alongside the Oratory Primary School on our most recent Winter Appeal. Below is a brief timeline of the hard work and dedication that was shown by our pupils and the pupils from the Oratory.
January: We started off our partnership by having an initial Zoom call with the pupils and Headteacher of the Oratory to introduce our team and briefly explain what we do in Faith in Action as well as what we hope to achieve in the future. We discussed the importance of supporting those in need and working for the Common Good of our society. The team explained the two main charities that we were hoping to support and how we are hoping to support them; The Glass Door Homeless Shelter and Salusbury World which supports refugee children and their families. Essential items that were required for both charities such as books, toys, hygiene products, warm clothes and sleeping bags.
February: After a busy donation and collection period for both schools, the team and Miss Henvey were lucky enough to visit the Oratory Primary and meet their charity ambassadors. During this visit we collected the very generous donations that were donated by their whole school community and these items were added to the incredible amount of donations that had already been donated by our pupils and their families.
March: Our Faith in Action team worked hard sorting through the items and deciding which items were most essential for each charity. We were also able to support the Ukrainian Crisis Appeal with a large amount of essential items such as power banks, medical care, hygiene items and sanitary products. We are looking forward to further partnership appeals with the Oratory in the upcoming months and years.
